WHETHER THIS POST IS OF ANY IMPORT OR NOT is not the issue here but these little pictures are quite special to me in that they reflect a certain time of my life - as in this, the right here right now - a chapter I'd neither planned nor envisaged because it just happened, or rather, was the logical progression from a recent job that entailed caravan-trailing from town to town doing poster-billing until time came for us to bail, buy this caravan and start painting again.
Problem: funds had dwindled (been living on water, boiled and fried potatoes the last two weeks - heh - anyone ever had starchy potato indigestion before?) and art-materials are scarce so these paintings were whipped up on scrounged pieces of discarded caravan woodpanels and whatnot; will be beginning a new series of pictures on corrugated cardboard, subject matter - dunno - but something will crop up, you know, something always crops up when you leave The Doors of Perception open... is that it? Ah well...
Ah! - and a big thanks to my loved ones, John de Nugent, plasterer John and Dave for 'money, food and barter bailouts' that'll keep us slugging on (and the landlord at bay) for a couple weeks more, to see us through the best part of Christmas - a snowy one too, I hope - yeah, and digging around for more odd-jobs here and there... who knows, maybe one day I start a career again? Nah! Bugger that! Not for now - this is better - now, just to rescue my artgear and paintings in Finland damn. Come on now I need investors!
(see sidebar)
Come now cough up now...
(damn)
Ugh.
