The last few days saw me Facebooking with pals on matters both light and dark, the jokes and beer flowed with brief interludes of a bit of the old Shat-O-Red... then last night I joined my pals up the road at O'Hagans pub where a festive New Year's was had by all. Or most, at least. I behaved myself pretty well, stuck to the beer and had a merry time meeting new folks then later on hung out in the corner quite close to where the band was playing (lekker 80s music!) and things built up to a crescendo as midnight came on.
And there were pink flamingoes everywhere! I wasn’t operating but played more the part of the genial clown. Hey! A young lady even came up to me thinking I was the bouncer and asked for stomach medicine for her mum who, to me, looked like she was in a perfect bill of health. She had a grin from ear to ear on her! That’s NW Jozi for you. It’s a happy middle-class SWPL community and that’s fine with me.
We rah-rah-rah'ed on for a while longer and I did a well-disciplined duck at about one which I thought was pretty good.
Got home and onto the interweb whence, in a merry state and with frequent signal cuts, managed to shove up a few of my favourite old tracks for you in the posts below. Not everyone’s cuppa tea I know, but just bear with us…
The imagery accompanying the MP3s are not intended to shock, titillate or be obscene but I just happen to find them to be appropriate to the music. The Nunsploitation number is actually off the official CD cover. Ardent acolytes to the harsh industrial/martial/noise/dark ambient music genre I'm sure would agree that almost anything goes here. Some of us who chose to walk the more wayward foothills in life just think this to be normal stuff so please don't hold it against me.
Have good one! (now to just get rid of this fly on my monitor dash ~*klap!*~ gotcha…)
